What “reviewed” means on BuyFlowers
BuyFlowers does not use an “expert reviewed” label as a default trust badge. A page should only identify a reviewer when a real person has actually reviewed that page and the person’s role can be described accurately.
If no named reviewer has completed that work, the page should show its author and publication or update date without implying an additional professional review.
What gets verified
Different claims need different evidence. Merchant opening hours, addresses, ratings and contact details can change. Delivery cut-offs, fees and promotions can change even faster. Flower meanings and gifting etiquette are interpretive rather than operational facts. We therefore use different checks depending on the type of statement.
- Business details: first-party merchant pages or current business-profile data where available.
- Delivery and pricing: current florist terms, checkout information or published service pages.
- Promotions: merchant, bank, university, membership or other authoritative promotion pages.
- Flower symbolism: presented as cultural and editorial guidance, with clear acknowledgement that meanings vary.
- Local delivery advice: based on practical destination requirements such as building, unit, company, hotel or hospital information, without inventing florist coverage.
What we do not claim
We do not claim that every article is checked by a certified florist, that every price is verified on a fixed quarterly schedule, or that an unnamed expert has approved a page. We also avoid creating combined ratings that no review platform actually publishes.
Author and freshness signals
Editorial articles display the author together with publication and modification information. A page that has not been independently reviewed should say “Published” or “Updated,” not “Reviewed.” This distinction is intentional because freshness and professional review are different signals.
Corrections
If a factual claim becomes outdated or a source no longer supports it, the preferred response is to correct, qualify or remove the claim. Readers can report issues through the contact page.
