Why we use benchmarks
Flower prices vary by stem type, bouquet size, season, delivery method and peak-date demand. BuyFlowers uses benchmark ranges to give readers a realistic starting point for comparing options without presenting an estimate as a guaranteed merchant quote.
What a benchmark is—and is not
A benchmark is an editorial reference range. It is not a live checkout price, a promise that every florist falls inside the range, or proof that the cheapest listed option is the best value. When we display a merchant-specific current price, that should be clearly distinguishable from a general benchmark.
What we compare
- Small hand-tied bouquets and everyday arrangements.
- Medium mixed bouquets and premium flower choices.
- Rose bouquets and other stem-count-sensitive products.
- Condolence and congratulatory stands.
- Delivery, express and other service fees where published.
How to read a price range
Use the lower end of a range as an indication of simpler arrangements, smaller sizes or more common flowers—not as a guaranteed starting price. The upper end can rise with premium imported stems, larger arrangements, design complexity or peak-season demand.
Why final checkout price matters
A bouquet that looks cheaper can become more expensive after delivery, express service, location surcharges or size upgrades. For buying decisions, compare the final delivered total and the actual arrangement size rather than only the advertised headline price.
How benchmarks are maintained
We do not claim a fixed quarterly update schedule unless that schedule is actually being followed. Benchmarks are reviewed when the relevant guide is materially updated or when new information shows that an old range is no longer useful. Time-sensitive merchant prices should still be confirmed with the florist before checkout.
